Holding Candidates Accountable
Our Choices for the Historic 2008 Election
SEIU CT State Council

Local 1199 Members Barbara and Tamika McFadden, Council 400 Member Win Heimer, Paraprofessional Council Members Janette Smith and Sharon Hagans, and Nick Grey in Manchester, NH in October
Our members here in Connecticut joined with SEIU members all across the country and made history this election year by standing united and working together! We have elected leaders to the General Assembly, Congress, and the White House to tackle the issues affecting working families.
We printed the full slate of our endorsed candidates for the November 4 General Election in the CSEA News, mailed to our membership in late-October, and sent a leaflet by e-mail to members signed-up here at our website, as well. There are the candidates we believed would stand up for us on the issues that matter to us:
- Protecting workers' rights to a voice on the job;
- Reforming our broken healthcare system;
- Protecting public services from outsourcing and budget cuts;
- Treating retired workers with dignity and respect; and
- Empowering public employees to deliver quality services.
