Candidates Seeking Our Members' Support
2010 General Election Endorsement Questionnaires
Candidate for State Comptroller Kevin Lembo Spoke to Our Union's Retiree Members at the Council 400 Delegates Meeting in September
Our members support candidates who have proven they will support working families -- and be held accountable to us once elected.
Endorsing a candidate is a decision we do not take lightly. We require those we have not supported in the past to complete a lengthy questionnaire and attend interview sessions with our members and others in the SEIU Connecticut State Council's affiliated unions and answer questions on how they will govern if elected.
The bottom line is that candidates for elected office in 2010 must show our members where they stand on the issues important to middle-class families:
Protecting workers' rights to a voice on the job;
Preventing public services from costly outsourcing and damaging budget cuts;
Honoring contracts and agreements with public workers and retirees;
Treating retired workers with dignity and respect;
and
Empowering public employees to deliver quality services.
As the candidates on the ballot for the
November 2
General Election seek our Union's endorsement, their State Council questionnaires will be linked here for members to review. Because our website is accessible to the public, we will NOT post the names of endorsed candidates here, and will provide them to members only.
MEMBERS ONLY may request Union endorsements from Political Director Danny Medress
