Parents in our community depend on child care professionals to keep their kids safe and help get them ready to succeed when they enroll in school. Education experts and children's advocates and have long understood that family based providers deliver services that thousands of Connecticut families depend on.

We believe it is essential for workers in early education to gain a greater voice in decisions affecting delivery of instruction and care. Our goal is to unite the state's child care providers for the strength and unity it will take to stabilize their profession.

We see this opportunity to empower these dedicated professionals as critical to developing a foundation for a child's successful public education. Working with parents, community networks, and early education advocates, CSEA - SEIU, the Child Care Union, is supporting family-based providers' efforts to close Connecticut's achievement gap.
