Purpose: The Regional School District #8's Board of Education has rejected the tentative agreement on a successor contract ratified by members of our Paraprofessional Council's Chapter I47, which represents the assistant bookkeeper, maintenance workers, office staff, custodians, and paraprofessionals working in RHAM Middle and High Schools.
Action: The school board's rejection of our agreement sends the matter to be settled in arbitration. Members and supporters are urged to attend and call on the Board to reconsider its actions and approve the tentative agreement, which will save the district thousands of dollars in the costs of arbitrating this matter.
