Leading for Quality Services
Our 4-Point Plan to Build a Stronger Union
Council 760 Members of Chapter 743 who Work for Sodexho, the Ridgefield Board of Education's Food Services Contractor, Met in August to Discuss Healthcare Reforms
We have a strong record of raising standards for active and retired public service workers at the bargaining table and at the State Capitol. But as the current economic crisis worsens, and elected officials ratchet up pressure on public agencies to cut costs, we will need greater strength to protect the services our communities count on -- and the security we fought so hard to achieve!
Our Executive Council has adopted a "Quality Services Initiative," a 4-point plan to mobilize members, resources, and strengths to:
- Promote and improve quality public services;
- Become the best public employee union in Connecticut;
- Raise standards for publicly funded employees; and
- Grow our union.
To accomplish this ambitious agenda, we need to:
- Allocate the resources necessary for victory;
- Hold ourselves as leaders, members, and staff accountable; and
- Ultimately, elect a pro-public employee Governor in 2010.
The first step is to share personal stories of members delivering quality services in the face of growing challenges and depleted resources. Tell your own story or recommend a fellow member to our union's Communications Director Matt O'Connor at (800) 894-9479, ext. 129.
