Our Convention - Forward with Unity
2010 Convention Program, Amendments, and Other Resources
Outgoing Local President Cathy Osten Listened as Dan Malloy Refuted the Scapegoating of Public Employees by His Opponent on the November 2 Ballot
Every two years, our Union convenes elected delegates to reinforce our mission, restate our values, and set goals and establish objectives to work collectively to achieve. Our Convention is the highest decision making body in our Union, and the primary purpose of the biennial meeting is:
- To elect our Union Officers and Auditors;
- Take action on any amendments to our Constitution and By-Laws;
- Vote on resolutions submitted to the Convention; and
- Install delegates and alternates to the Executive Council.
Our work plan adopted in 2008 provided guiding principles in setting targets for membership recruitment, leadership development, new organizing, political gains, and community partnerships for our 69 Anniversary Convention in 2010.
Several of the materials prepared for and presented at the Convention are linked below – check back again for additional information and resources as they become available.
