Our Retiree Advocacy
Leading for Retirement Security
Congressman Chris Murphy Speaks to Our Council 400 Delegates About Protecting Retiree Healthcare at Our Union Hall
Now that we are retired, we all need a support network. Recent efforts by elected officials to score political points by turning voters against the gains we have made in the past means that now, more than ever, retired public sector workers must unite to protect our retirement!
Are you afraid your pension is not truly safe?
Are you concerned about Social Security privatization?
Are you looking for additional cost-saving benefits and consumer discounts?
Do you worry about the quality of your retiree health care coverage?
Council 400 formed a Legislative Action Committee (LAC) to address these critical issues and more in Hartford and Washington, DC. One of the primary goals of the LAC is to increase grass-roots union involvement in activities that benefit members, their families, and our communities. From monitoring pending legislation at the state and federal level, to letter-writing, lobbying and "phone-banking" for candidates and issues, there are many ways to make a difference.
Call our Union toll-free at (800) 894-9479 to request an appointment to the LAC by Council President Ed Daly.
