P-4 Council Stewards Oscar Gomez, Tim McGuane, and Paul Mikulak with New Members at the DOT's Training Center
On April 29, our P-4 Council members working for the Department of Transportation voted to ratify our Objective Job Evaluation (OJE) Agreement negotiated with the Rell Administration. The final tally was 689 "YES" votes out of a total of 887 ballots cast! We moved the Administration's Office of Policy and Management (OPM) to approve the Agreement, and they sent it to the General Assembly three days before adjourning the 2008 session. The resolution to approve the Agreement wasn't brought up for a vote, but because it is not a bill, the end of the session does not mean the end of the resolution.Legislative leaders have publicly announced they will be holding a special session this summer. Our SEIU State Council organizers and legislative liaisons are already working to have the Agreement taken up when they reconvene!
