Negotiating Healthcare & Pension Issues
SEBAC Tentative Agreement Info for CSPCOA Members
CSPCOA Council Members Dale Hourigan, Ed Gould, and Tom Garbedian Met with State Representative Kevin Ryan to Discuss the State's Refusal to Recognize Our Union
When the economy began to meltdown last fall, the Administration of Governor M. Jodi Rell made it clear that concessions were needed from each of the unions representing State public service workers. Our Union's Executive Director and General Counsel represented CSEA SEIU Local 2001 members in the months-long discussions that followed between the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) and the Administration.
On April 17, leaders reached a tentative agreement to achieve cost savings and job security for members of the coalition's thirteen unions. Despite the Administration's refusal to recognize our certified bargaining unit, our Council will be participating in the ratification vote on the healthcare and pension issues covered by the SEBAC tentative agreement (TA). If approved, the changes will apply to us regardless of the legal fight to have our union voices heard.
Our Council will be voting on the SEBAC tentative agreement on May 6, and details and relevant documents that have been mailed to members at their home addresses are linked here. Our Council voted on the SEBAC tentative agreement on May 6, and details and relevant documents mailed to members are linked here.
