Purpose: Several community, faith, and labor allies are holding a vigil to urge Governor Rell sign the recently passed SustiNet and Connecticut Healthcare Partnership legislation into law -- date is significant because it is the last day before the Governor’s deadline for action on both bills!
Agenda: If the Governor vetoes or signs the bill(s) sometime around this
weekend, we will still have an action -- tone and type of call to
action at our vigil/rally will be determined by the Governor’s actions:
- If she signs the bill – it’s a celebration!
- If she vetoes the bill – we’re setting the stage for a veto override!
- If no action was taken – we’re going to continue putting pressure on the Governor to sign the bills!
Action: All are welcome and encouraged to attend -- show the Governor that we are ready for her to sign these landmark healthcare reform bills and stand up for the people of CT!
