Workshop & Conference Fund, Tuition Reimbursement, and Promotional Exams

P-4 Council Presidents Meeting at Hall
P-4 Council Chapter Presidents Reviewed the New Agreement on Members' Personal Education Costs in October
Our Council contract includes a unique benefit our Union negotiated with the State to reimburse funds for members' personal training and tuition expenses. The incentive also allows for covering costs for members to attend seminars and join professional organizations. A joint Professional Conference and Workshop Committee administers the fund, which receives $70,000.00 annually to cover approved expenditures for professional development.

In order to help members take advantage of promotional opportunities within State service, this section will feature announcements of select examinations for open positions. Source webpages maintained by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) will be linked below as they are provided to Union staff for posting.

In August 2010, Council leaders reached an agreement with the State's Office of Labor Relations to resolve payment of members' approved tuition reimbursement requests for the past fiscal year. In February 2011, the agreement formally went into effect. Both a memo outlining the agreement and the memorandum of understanding are linked below in formats that can be printed or read online.
